Routy

Two channels report the same vendor, so we picked one

Two of your connected channels report numbers for the same vendor. To stop your totals counting that vendor twice, Routy picked which connection counts for it. You can change the choice.

What it means

This usually happens when you connect an ad network directly and also connect a tracker that reports the same ad network's campaigns. Both send the same spend, impressions and clicks. Added together, everything would double.

The message names the vendor, the connection that now counts, and the one that does not. Nothing is deleted: both connections keep syncing, and both stay visible on their own pages.

Why it happens

Routy checks after each sync whether more than one of your connections reports the same vendor. The first time it finds one, it picks a winner by these rules:

  • A direct connection beats a tracker. The vendor whose data it is outranks a tool that relays it.
  • If both are the same kind, the older connection wins, so the choice stays stable.

It decides each vendor only once. It never overrides a choice you made yourself.

What you can do

Nothing is required if the pick is right. To check or change it:

  1. Go to Tracking → Channels.
  2. Find the Which source to trust card. It lists only the vendors two of your connections both report, with how many campaigns each connection reports for it.
  3. Click Use this one on the connection you want to count. It is then marked Chosen by you.

See Channels: your connections.

When it clears

This is an Info notice. It closes by itself 7 days after it was raised. You can also press Resolve on it straight away. A different vendor reported twice raises its own notice.
