Postbacks rejected: no click reference
Some postbacks sent to your postback URL arrived without any click reference, so we could not match them to a click and they were not counted.
What it means
Every postback has to tell us which click it belongs to, using one of two values:
clickId: the long click ID Routy created for the visit.dyn: Routy's shorter tracking value for the same click.
These postbacks had neither. Both were missing or empty. Without a click we cannot tell which account, link or traffic source the conversion belongs to, so the postback was turned away. Rejected postbacks are not stored, so they do not appear on Events → Postbacks and cannot be reloaded later.
Because there is no click, the issue is attached to your postback URL rather than to an account. The issue's example request is the best clue to which network sent it.
Why it happens
- The postback URL at the network has no
clickId=ordyn=. It only carries the event, for example?firsttimedeposits=1. - The placeholder came back empty. The network fills
clickId=from a sub-ID, but your tracking link never passed Routy's click ID in that sub-ID, so there was nothing to send back. - Someone is testing the URL by hand, opening the postback URL in a browser or from a script without a click reference.
What you can do
The postback is built by the network that sends it, so this can only be changed in that network's postback settings. There is nothing to change in Routy, and our support team cannot change it for you.
If you want these conversions counted:
- Open the issue's details and look at the example request to work out which network sent it.
- Sign in to that network and open its postback settings.
- Add
clickId=followed by the network's placeholder for the sub-ID that carries Routy's click ID. Use Generate on Events → Postbacks to see the URL Routy expects. See Postbacks event log. - Check that your tracking link at that network passes Routy's click ID in the same sub-ID.
- Save, then send a test conversion if the network offers one.
Postbacks rejected before the fix are not recovered.
When it clears
It closes by itself 24 hours after the last postback that arrived without a click reference. You can also press Resolve. If another one arrives, it opens again.
