Clicks Blocked: Link Inactive
Real visitors are clicking one of your links, but the link is not active, so the clicks are being turned away.
What it means
Only links with the status Active redirect. This link has a different status, so visitors who click it get an error page instead of the offer. The click is not recorded, so you will not find it in your clicks log.
You get one issue per link. The issue's details show the blocked URL, the page the click came from, the referrer, and your pa / pb values.
Why it happens
- The link was set to Inactive by you or a teammate, but it is still published somewhere that gets clicks.
- It is an older link with no current status. Some links created a long time ago carry a status that is neither Active, Inactive nor Obsolete. In Routy Links the status badge on such a link can look empty. They do not redirect either.
A link you retired on purpose (status Obsolete) raises a different issue, Clicks Blocked: Link No Longer In Use.
What you can do
- Open the link from the issue in Routy Links, or from the Links tab on its account's page.
- Decide whether the link should still be working:
- If yes, set its status to Active. Clicks start redirecting again shortly after.
- If it was replaced by a newer link, use Replace link to point it at the new one, so clicks on the old link are forwarded.
- If it should stay off, use the issue's details to find the page the clicks come from, and take the link down there.
When it clears
On its own, 3 days after the last blocked click. Fixing the link does not close the issue at that moment, so you can press Resolve once you have fixed it. If clicks are still being blocked, it opens again with the next one. A burst of blocked clicks is reported at most once an hour, and search engine crawlers never trigger it.
