Assigned offers

An assigned offer is an offer made for one specific partner: their own copy of the deal, with their own links. The Assigned offers tab lists every one of them in your network, with the partner it belongs to and the deal they are on today.

This page is mostly about one job: changing a partner's deal without touching their links.

Changing a partner's deal

A partner is performing well and you want to pay them more from the 1st of next month. Their links don't change, and they don't have to do anything.

  1. On the offer, open the ⋮ menu and choose Settings.
  2. Open Commercial Terms and change what you need: CPA, CPL, rev share, baseline or currency.
  3. In Takes effect, leave it on Now, or pick a later date. You can't pick a date in the past.
  4. Save.

The partner is notified straight away, in the app and by email, with the old and the new terms and the date they start.

Which conversions get the new deal

The deal follows the click, not the conversion:

  • Traffic clicked before the start date is paid at the old deal, however late the conversion arrives.
  • Traffic clicked from the start date is paid at the new one.

So nothing you have already recorded is repriced, and there's no need to recalculate after a deal change.

Saving without changing the deal

Changing only the name or description of an assigned offer doesn't create a new deal and doesn't notify the partner. Saving the same deal that is already in effect doesn't either.

Deal history

Every change you make is kept as a version. Open the ⋮ menu on the offer and choose Deal history to see them all, newest first.

Status What it means
Upcoming Scheduled. Takes effect on its start date.
Current The deal in effect right now.
Past Replaced by a later version. Still applies to traffic clicked while it was current.

An offer with a change scheduled also shows it on the offer itself, under its current deal: From Nov 1: CPA $120.

Your partner sees the same history on their side, but can't change it.

Withdrawing a scheduled change

Changed your mind before the new deal starts? Open Deal history and choose Withdraw on the upcoming version. The partner is notified that the change is off.

Two things can't be withdrawn:

  • A change that has already started. Schedule a new change instead.
  • The offer's first deal, even when the offer starts in the future. Change it from Settings instead.

Scheduling a new change for the same date as an existing upcoming one replaces it, so you don't need to withdraw first.

Offers that aren't assigned

Public and partner offers are templates. Editing one changes it in place, with no versions and no history, and it does not change the copies your partners already have. To change what a particular partner is paid, change their assigned offer.

Common questions

"I changed the CPA but last week's conversions still show the old amount." Expected. Those conversions came from clicks before the change started, so they keep the deal of their click.

"My partner says they didn't hear about the change." Open the offer's deal history and check the version is there with the date you meant. The partner is notified when a change is scheduled or withdrawn, not when it starts.

"I can't find Withdraw on a change." It has already started, or it is the offer's first deal. See above.

When to escalate to engineering

  • A conversion from a click after the start date is still paid at the old deal.
  • The deal history shows a version you didn't create, or is missing one you did.
  • Saving a change returns an error with a start date in the future.
