Routy

Link Management Guide

Routy Links are smart affiliate tracking URLs with built-in analytics, rotation, and optimization features.

  1. Navigate to Link Management
  2. Click Add Routy Link
  3. Fill in the required fields:
Field Required Description
Account The affiliate account to use
Destination URL Where to send the user
Link Name Descriptive name for the link
Sub IDs Custom tracking parameters
Traffic Source Where traffic comes from

Your generated link will look like:

https://track.routy.app/click/abc123?sub1=facebook&sub2=campaign1

Breakdown:

  • track.routy.app — Your tracking domain
  • /click/abc123 — Unique link identifier
  • ?sub1=... — Custom tracking parameters

Sub ID Parameters

Sub IDs let you segment your traffic for reporting. You have 5 sub parameters available:

Parameter Common Usage Example
sub1 Campaign name summer_sale
sub2 Ad group banner_300x250
sub3 Creative ID creative_v2
sub4 Placement homepage_sidebar
sub5 Custom test_variant_b

Best practice: Define a consistent naming convention for sub IDs across all your campaigns. This makes reporting much easier.

Deep Linking

Send users to specific pages on the merchant site instead of the homepage:

Destination: https://merchant.com/products/widget-pro

Routy preserves the full path and query parameters through the redirect.

Distribute traffic across multiple destinations:

  1. Create a link with multiple destinations
  2. Set the weight for each destination (e.g., 50/50, 70/30)
  3. Routy automatically rotates traffic based on weights

Geo-Targeting

Redirect users to different destinations based on their location:

Country Destination
🇺🇸 United States merchant.com/us/
🇬🇧 United Kingdom merchant.co.uk/
🇩🇪 Germany merchant.de/
Default merchant.com/

Troubleshooting

Link not redirecting:

  • Check that the link status is Active
  • Verify the destination URL is accessible
  • Test the raw URL in an incognito browser

Clicks not counting:

  • Ensure your tracking profile is configured
  • Check for ad blockers that may strip tracking parameters
  • Review the Click Events log for errors

Low conversion rate:

  • Verify postback URLs are correctly configured
  • Check for duplicate click filtering
  • Review the conversion window (default: 30 days)
