Routy

Migrating from Routy V1 to V2

This page tells you where each V1 report, dashboard and setting lives in Routy V2.

Your existing Routy links are already migrated. Same domain, same links, same parameters. There's nothing to re-create or re-issue, and your postbacks and pixels keep working as they are. The one change on your side is the API base URL: https://public-api.routy.app/ becomes https://platform.routy.app/api/.

Four things in V2 have no V1 equivalent, so they are not in the table above: column mapping and the raw report view, the Insights Dashboard, the column picker in the tracking profile and dynamic variable reports, and saved custom reports in Report Builder.

Accounts

In V1 you added and managed accounts from Accounts in the sidebar.

In V2, go to Affiliate Programs > Accounts and press Add, or select an existing account to manage it.

Traffic sources

In V1 you added and managed traffic sources from Traffic Sources in the sidebar.

Routy V1 Traffic Sources page

In V2, go to Tracking > Traffic sources.

Routy V2 Tracking Traffic sources page

Select a traffic source to:

  • Generate a tracking script, if the traffic source is set as a Website
  • Set up webhooks
  • Set up integrations
  • Set up cloaked links, also known as branded links

Adding and testing your pixel

Once the traffic source exists and its domain is added, the tracking script is in the top-right of the traffic source page.

Copy and add the script the same way you did in V1. Then open the test link highlighted in yellow in the screenshot above to load a test environment. A successful test looks like this:

You can also confirm page views are being tracked in the Page Views report under Events.

Dashboards

Dashboards were rebuilt in V2 and are now split into In App and BI dashboards.

In App and BI dashboards in the V2 sidebar

The Traffic Dashboard and the Player Dashboard are now one Performance Dashboard, under Dashboards > Routy. The same section also has a new Insights Dashboard. The Accounts and Traffic Source dashboards are unchanged, under Dashboards > Reporting.

Traffic and conversion reports

The Traffic Report, which V1 also called the Performance Report, and the Conversion Report are both in Report Builder now. Select Report Builder in the sidebar and choose Routy Events.

Choosing Routy Events in Report Builder

That section holds the preset reports. The Performance Report preset is the V1 Traffic Report and Conversion Report merged into one. You can also build your own report and save it.

Preset reports in Report Builder

Raw tracker and dynamic reports

In V1 these were under Reports > Raw > Tracker and Reports > Raw > Dynamic. In V2 both are in Report Builder:

  • Report Builder > Program Tracking Profile Reports is the old Tracker Report
  • Report Builder > Program Dynamic Variable Reports is the old Dynamic Report

The one change worth knowing about is that you now choose which columns each of these two reports shows.

Events

V1 kept these under Reports > Logs. In V2 they are under Events:

  • Clicks, a log of every Routy link click
  • Page Views, a log of every page view tracked by the Routy pixel
  • Postbacks, a log of every incoming postback, which was the Postback Report in V1
  • Webhooks, a log of every outgoing postback and webhook

Column mapping

Column mapping is new in V2. You choose which program column Routy reads each field from. If your team treats columnA from the program as the brand and Routy defaults to columnB, you can change that yourself instead of asking us to.

Mappings live on the account: Affiliate Programs > Accounts, then Advanced > Mappings.

You can also read the raw report exactly as Routy extracted it, which shows you what the mapping is transforming. It's under Affiliate Programs > Accounts > Program > Advanced > Raw Report.
